Your First Visit
At DeChellis & Stonestreet Dentistry, we feel that your first dental visit sets the tone for our relationship. Because we are privately owned and operated, we make every attempt to arrange a full patient exam and consultation for every new patient. Because your new patient exam at our Youngstown or Columbiana dental offices is so important, we never skimp on time.
Here is what you can expect:
- You will have our undivided attention to discuss your needs and goals.
- You will receive a tooth-by-tooth exam.
- You will undergo a periodontal evaluation.
- You can ask as many questions as you like.
- Your dentist will explain anything you need to know about.
- You will receive a visual oral cancer screening.
This might be a more thorough exam than you are used to, but setting a good foundation at your initial dental exam will help you gain a “full picture” of your oral health.
Your Dental Cleaning
Unless it has been a long time since your last dental cleaning, or if you have had changes to your medical conditions that cause periodontal disease, you can expect that you will have a dental cleaning at your first dental visit.
If you have some catching up to do, no worries. We will go over your treatment and arrange a follow-up dental cleaning appointment. Our hygienists are friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. They don’t just clean teeth; they are a wealth of knowledge about home care and products, and how to make your smile look and feel great. Our hygienists will often be the ones to take your x-rays and make sure that the dentist knows about any changes.
We Take Time to Talk – and Listen
At DeChellis & Stonestreet Dentistry, building lasting relationships with the families in our communities is essential to our professional and personal happiness. Getting to know you, your children, and your friends are what makes dentistry fun! We love watching families grow and celebrate your milestones with you.
At your first visit, we will get to know one another and develop a plan for you and your loved ones to enjoy a lifetime of healthy, happy smiles.
Give us a call at either our Boardman dental office or our Columbiana dental office. Both of our dental homes are currently welcoming new patients.
